Like all good Canadian ideas, illicit grew from an idea pitched at a late night Tim Horton's meet. From there, the dream of starting our clothing and media brand took off. Since our official launch in May of 2019, we've set up at over 100 events nation wide.
Our goal is to create unique art based around car culture as a whole, and provide them to you on only the highest quality garments, while staying affordable in this climate. We do that by having our own in house production facility (which is rapidly growing) and sourcing our garments direct from the manufacturers. We take immense pride in our products and stand by their quality 100% If you ever have an issue with any of our products, please reach out and we will make it right!
Now, what you've all come here for, what is illicit??!!? First off we use one of the lesser known definitions:
illicit /i(l)ˈlisət/ adjective. Going against standards; unacceptable or unapproved by society.
This is what our slogan embodies. "Dare to be different; Dare to be illicit." Be yourself and be proud of it! Even if it means other people may not accept that. Everyone starts somewhere, be the best you can be and you never know where it'll take you!
